What is a Breeder’s Cut?
A breeder’s cut is more than just a clone — it’s a hand-selected genetic masterpiece.
Here’s how it works: A breeder starts by selecting a female plant with desirable traits — think flavor, potency, yield, structure. That female is then pollinated using either a traditional male plant or a reversed female (a process that induces a female to produce pollen).
From that cross, the breeder pops a large number of seeds, carefully growing them out in search of “the one” — the plant that expresses the most elite version of the traits they’re after.
Once that perfect phenotype is found, it’s cloned, vegged out, and grown into a healthy, established mother plant. From that mother, cuttings are taken and shared — these are known as breeder cuts.
So when you get a breeder cut, you’re not just getting a clone — you’re getting a genetic selection directly from the breeder, representing their vision and hard work.
